2017 COPA Convention A Massive Success!

The 2017 COPA Covention & Trade Show was held in Kelowna this past weekend. There were over 500 delegates in attendance arriving from as far as Newfoundland and PEI. Even more importantly, over 125 aircraft flew in and many took advantage of the under wing camping, a first for an international airport in Canada. The convention also attracted 700 members of the general public to the trade show and static aircraft display.

The organizers did a phenomenal job putting on a class act event! The BCGA was very well represented and it was fantastic to see so many familiar faces and to finally meet so many members from all over the Province! COPA is moving in an exciting new direction and we encourage all our members to join COPA and we look forward to a long healthy relationship working with COPA to promote General Aviation in BC and across this great country!
Thanks to all the BCGA members that spent some time at our booth it was buzzing the whole weekend with our interactive content and definitely drummed up some excitement. Our members are our most valuable ambassadors.

We are also proud to be included as part of the consultation group for Transport Canada’s new General Aviation Safety Campaign.

At the convention COPA unveiled their exciting, fresh new logo that signifies the organization modernizing and moving forward.

Special thanks to:
Bernard Gervais, Carter Mann, Pamela Carey Nelson and the rest of the organizers and volunteers from the Kelowna Flying Club for a fantastic event.

Thanks to Candace McKibbon for doing such and awesome job with the BC Aviation Council and for being such a strong partner working with the BCGA.

Huge thanks to Mark Cossement, Gene Creelman and the folks at Points West Audio Visual in Kelowna for hooking us up with some sweet displays for our booth. Also thanks to the members that helped man the booth, answer questions and helped to pack up. You made our weekend!
