A good friend and local pilot, Sonya Sangster and her sister Bridget Sangster run a not for profit that supports a village in Uganda. Sonya and Bridget are from BC. Sonya learned to fly at the Abbotsford Airport in 2003 and is a Captain on the Dash 8 for the UN in Africa. Along with their team they work extremely hard to support the village of Tekera in Uganda.
At the end of April they will be sending a shipping container of donations and supplies to the village to help the village by improving their infrastructure and ability to be self sustaining.
The BCGA has partnered with local businesses to allow for convenient drop off of these items at any of the local airports. The drop off locations are listed below. Please have any items dropped off by the end of the business day on April 18th. We will be picking up the donations on April 19th and will deliver them to ICEF for delivery to Uganda.
The donation will be on behalf of the BC General Aviation Association in recognition of the work that they do for this community in Uganda and for the work that Sonya does as a pilot flying throughout Africa for the United Nations.
Thank you in advance for helping the BCGA help ICEF help the people of Tekera.
