Position: Chief Flight Instructor
The Vanderhoof Flying Club and Flight School is a small, expanding, flight training unit located in Vanderhoof, the geographical centre of British Columbia. We are seeking a motivated Class 1 or 2 Flight Instructor to lead our flight training programs. This unique position will offer the successful candidate the opportunity to bring their experience and enthusiasm to the CFI position while enjoying the rural flavour, natural beauty and recreational opportunities of the area.
Our school provides Recreational Pilot Permit, Private Pilot and Commercial Pilot Training.
Overview The ideal applicant, who will report to the Vanderhoof Flying Club’s Board of Directors, must excel independently and be willing to adapt to the needs of a small organization. They will have several years of flight instructing experience, extensive knowledge of aviation regulations, and an intense desire to teach and guide aspiring pilots.
Responsibilities
• Managing and directing the day-to-day flight training operations.
• Ensuring compliance with all aviation regulations and standards,
• Teaching, monitoring and evaluating students’ progress.
• Maintain training records and documentation.
• Assist with the hiring and selection of flight instructors.
• Working with the PRM to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the Club aircraft including aircraft fuelling, pre-flight inspections and aircraft handling.

• Strong dedication to quality and safety.
• The ability to function effectively under pressure.

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent, Flexible
